Transcript: so when Jesus comes to the visible Jewish authorities of his time kind of like Roman Catholics or like what Jehovah’s Witnesses will claim to be or what the Mormon apostles will claim to be Jesus how did he handle those kinds of visible authorities when he approached the Sadducees when he approached the Pharisees he rebuked them but he didn’t just rebuke them on his own authority this is interesting he had authority to rebuke them but he didn’t just do that he rebuked them with scripture I think the scripture is the Revival mechanism is the theology correcting mechanism is the prophet testing mechanism of God it is the word of God written that’s what we use to test all things and hold fast to what is good we use the scripture all the groups that I’ve just named they do not have that rule Jesus had that rule it seems the apostles had that rule and scripture seems to be giving us that rule don’t let anybody take the word of God out of your hands
