The Bible Is Corrupted?
I am going to talk about a good way to introduce to Muslims how they should be open to reading the Gospel, which, as confirmed, they call in Islam (Enjeel).
First of all, we have to be patient and loving toward them, even though they may seem very resistant or tough when it comes to reading the Bible or the Enjeel!
Muslims have a very negative background about the Bible based on what they were taught while growing up with their families or in mosques. For example, some of them believe that:
- Some The original version is with the Pope in Italy, and they claim it contains a verse where Jesus said: “A prophet will come after me; his name is Ahmed.” Because of this, they believe the Pope hid the original Bible.
- Another group simply accuses the Bible of being corrupted without knowing anything beyond that!
Answers:
- We ask: Who corrupted the Bible? Where was it corrupted? When did it become corrupted? And lastly, why was it corrupted?
Most likely, they won’t have answers to these questions. But we have to keep going and share in a loving way, without making them feel like they were defeated or lost the argument. Jesus never did that, and now it’s time to open their eyes to some verses in the Quran that actually command them to read the Bible—whether they want to or not. Since they believe the Quran is the word of God, it means God is asking them to read the Bible or Enjeel.
1. Surah Yunus (10:64)
“For them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. There is no change in the words of Allah. That is the great attainment.”
This verse tells us that no one can change God’s word. So we ask: Do you believe that God is almighty? Of course, we believe this! If God is almighty, then no one can change His word. If someone had corrupted the Bible, that would mean they are stronger than God—but we know this is not true!
2. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:285)
“The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], ‘We make no distinction between any of His messengers.’ And they say, ‘We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination.’”
Muslims call these the “Pillars of Faith,” which include:
- Belief in Allah (God)
- His Books
- His Angels
- Judgment Day
- His Messengers
Again, we focus on “His Books.” This verse means that God is commanding them to believe not only in the Quran but in the other Holy Books as well—and the Gospel is one of them. If they don’t, then they are disobeying God.
After sharing these points, if they are still unwilling to read the Bible, that’s okay. We simply pray for them, leave in a very friendly way, and ask God to soften their hearts.
SHARING THE GOSPEL
Now, I am going to teach you one of the most effective ways to share the Gospel with the cousins, especially the “Yellow Light” people who are open to listening. In this approach, we will share the Gospel from the Quran! This way, they can’t say, “No, this is not right!” or interrupt. And if they try, just kindly ask them to wait and listen until the end—then they can ask their questions.
story | God, People |
Adam and Eve | Covered them through a bird. They obeyed and wore the feathers. |
Noah and the Ark | Saved them through the Ark . They entered the Ark. |
Ebrahim and the Lamb | Sent a lamb to save his son. He obeyed and took the lamb. |
Joseph (Youssef) | Saved people from famine through Youssef . They went to Egypt to get food and believed even without seeing it. |
The Story of Separation
First, we share the story of separation—how God created humans to live in paradise without sin, sickness, pain, or death. This part is important because many of them don’t know when death entered the world. After Adam and Eve sinned, God cast them out, and humanity multiplied with evil and sin. That’s why we see people fighting and murdering each other today. But this was never God’s original plan—He was preparing for something bigger and deeper to restore us to paradise after we die.
Adam and Eve
When Adam and Eve sinned, God gave them clothing made from an animal. This means there was a sacrifice to cover their sin. Adam and Eve accepted it and wore the cloth.
Noah and the Ark
In this story, God told Noah to care for the animals and his family but also to warn all people—not just those who believed in God. This is an important detail because it shows that God cares more about faith than just actions.
Many Muslims believe that God is only concerned with the balance of “good deeds vs. bad deeds.” But this story reveals the truth—God didn’t save people based on how good or bad they were. He saved those who had faith and entered the Ark! If anyone had listened and obeyed, they would have been saved.
Ebrahim and the Lamb
As we know, God asked Ebrahim to take his son (we don’t mention Isaac to avoid unnecessary arguments about whether it was Isaac or Ishmael). The enemy wants them to focus on small details instead of Christ!
So, Ebrahim obeyed God and took his son to the mountain. In Islam, they believe that God made the knife dull—but that detail isn’t important. What matters is that God sent a GREAT LAMB, as mentioned in the Quran.
We ask: What do you think about the word “GREAT”? Why would the Quran describe a lamb using this word? The only one we usually describe as “GREAT” is Allah (God)!
At this moment, we don’t expect them to answer—we just keep sharing and let them think about it while we continue.
In this story, we see that God was testing Ebrahim, but He could have simply told him, “Go back home” after he passed the test. Instead, God used this moment to teach Ebrahim—and future generations—that He was preparing something even greater to save us, just as He saved Ebrahim’s son.
Youssef (Joseph)
In this story, God used Joseph to save people from famine. The people believed there was food in Egypt even before seeing it, so they traveled there to survive.
Summary
From Adam and Eve to today, God has always used someone or something to teach us His plan for humanity.
Christ was the final part of this system. Now, we share His story and what He has done for us.
Done for us and how he was a perfect sacrifice to redeem all of humanity.
Now, we are going to speak about Christ (Eissa) in Islam:
Basically, we want them to focus on Christ and his life more than anything else in the story, as he is the most important person in the whole story. That’s why we are sharing with them.
Eissa in Islam was really different and special, so we are going to speak about his whole life in Islam (before his birth – his life – God’s word – God’s spirit – his coming again).
1- Before His Birth:
“As Muslims believe, when they have a newborn, Satan speaks to him, so he starts to cry.”
We use this for Eissa as well!
They have a Hadith that refers to the recorded sayings, actions, and approvals of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It serves as a primary source of Islamic teachings, second only to the Qur’an.
We use:
“ما من مولود يولد إلا والشيطان يمسه حين يولد، فيستهل صارخًا من مسِّ الشيطان، إلا مريم وابنها.”
(رواه البخاري (3431) ومسلم (2366))
“There is no newborn except that Satan touches him when he is born, so he cries because of Satan’s touch, except for Mary and her son (Jesus).”
(Reported by Al-Bukhari (3431) and Muslim (2366))
Meaning of the Hadith:
Every newborn is pricked or touched by Satan at birth, which causes them to cry.
The only exception to this is Jesus (Isa) and his mother Mary (Maryam), peace be upon them, as Allah protected them from Satan’s touch.
This aligns with the verse in the Qur’an, where Mary’s mother prays:
“And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her and her offspring from Satan, the accursed.”
📖 (Surah Aal-e-Imran: 36)
2- His Life and Actions:
**”And [I have come as] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [saying]: I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I create for you from clay the likeness of a bird, then I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah’s permission. And I heal the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead by Allah’s permission. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Surely in that is a sign for you, if you are believers. (49)
And [I have come] confirming what was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear Allah and obey me. (50)”**
(From Surah Aal-e-Imran, verses 49-50)
After reading this verse, we can now see that Eissa can create, and no other prophet could create a bird out of nothing.
We also see that Eissa heals sickness, and he is the only one who heals humans. Not only that, but he could resurrect dead people from their graves.
3- God’s Word:
“O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah and His word, which He conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, ‘Three’; desist—it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.”
(Surah An-Nisa 4:171)
Here, we can find Eissa described in the Qur’an as the Word of God, which means Eissa is God because we cannot separate God from His Word. To make it more simple, we will use an example:
If we have two people who were fighting, and one of them cursed the other, then they went to the police and stood before an officer. The policeman asked one of them, “Did you curse him?” Do you think he can answer no?
Of course not! He cannot separate his words from himself. My words represent me—I cannot say, for example, “John said, ‘I love you,’ but that wasn’t John!”
“Eissa’s nickname is the Word of God, so he is God.”
Eissa Has the Spirit of God:
At this point, let’s think together: How can God’s spirit be separated?
Because God’s spirit is one—just as my spirit is one. So, if Eissa has the Spirit of God, then that means HE IS GOD!
Quranic Verse:
“And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We blew into her from Our Spirit, and she believed in the words of her Lord and His Scriptures and was of the devoutly obedient.”
Eissa Will Come Again:
“والذي نفسي بيده، ليوشكن أن ينزل فيكم ابن مريم حكمًا عدلًا، فيكسر الصليب، ويقتل الخنزير، ويضع الجزية، ويفيض المال حتى لا يقبله أحد.”
(رواه البخاري ومسلم)
“By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, the son of Mary will soon descend among you as a just ruler. He will break the cross, kill the pig, and abolish the jizya (tribute tax). Wealth will become so abundant that no one will accept it.”
(Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Here, we find that no one knows the Day of Judgment—but Eissa does. He will return, and we ask:
Why is Eissa so special that God chose him alone to come and judge?
