Transcript: Joseph Smith tried to produce his own version of the Bible it’s called the jst the Joseph Smith translation it’s the most obvious fraud in the world it may or may not have ever been completed he didn’t translate the whole Bible he took the King James and he kept making changes he did things like adding a bunch of extra verses at the end of Genesis to prophesy about himself I don’t know how I could be straight-faced and be Mormon after seeing that Joseph Smith said that his translation of the Bible was the most perfect one and the claim is that he did it under the power of the holy spirit so that his claim to be a prophet is tied to his translation of the Bible now the Mormons don’t actually print and use the Joseph Smith translation which is another irony and odd thing that’s going on there but the Bible is basically subservient to Mormon Doctrine wherever the Bible disagrees with current Mormon theology that’s where you’re either misunderstanding it or it’s been translated incorrectly so therefore they’ll point to supposed contradictions to undermine the reliability of the Bible to increase the authority of the Mormon church
